The visit by Ayatollah Ali Khamenei came as Iran is preparing to celebrate the ten-day dawn (Bahman 12-Bahman 22 falling on February 1-February 11). The ten-day dawn starts with the date marking the historic arrival of Imam Khomeini in the country after 15 years in exile in 1979 until the final victory of the Islamic Republic ten days later.
The Supreme Leader also paid a visit to the tombs of Ayatollah Beheshti and 72 other officials who were martyred in a terrorist attack in June 1981 and the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution and the Iraqi imposed war against Iran.
